  17. Enhancing DOS has become a national pastime for weekend programmers and
  18. corporations, each bringing you their promising product.  That often means
  19. changing over to another operating system, one that will be obsolete if it
  20. does not bear a mighty industrial name. Suppose you don't want to change over.
  21. Not yet.  Suppose you might be happy if you could just have a few more
  22. commands to suit your needs, a minor enhancement here or there, a replacement
  23. where merited?  That strain of logic lead me to develop several programs, four
  24. included here, to give a little light to what appears to be the last days of
  25. DOS.

  44. I recommend either putting these files in their own directory and adding
  45. that directory to the PATH section in your AUTOEXEC.SYS file or simply
  46. copying these three files to your DOS directory, which is easier.  You can
  47. also place them in your main C:> (or whatever drive you use) directory as
  48. long as the PATH setting includes that directory.  Once properly installed,
  49. the commands can be accessed as any other DOS command, either from the
  50. command line or from a batch (.bat) file via the CALL command.
